海峡の町。瀬戸内の陽光の町です。
1952 : I was born in Akashi city. Japan. I grew up this port
town.
My childhood was filled with sunshine and memories of exploring
the coast along the Seto Sea. |

京都市立芸術大学：KYOTO
CITY UNIVERSITY OF ART、西洋画科版画研究室卒業。
吉原英雄、舞原克典両先生から版画制作、主にリトグラフ制作を通して社会と芸術の
両立した生きかたのすすめを学びました。
1977 : I graduated from Kyoto City Uneversity of Art where I
majored in Printmaking. My two mentors;Prof. Hideo Yoshihara
and Prof. Katsunori Maihara emphasized the important relationship
between art and society. |

サントリー株式会社 入社。 デザイン部勤務。
生活文化企業をめざすサントリー製品のラベルやボトルのパッケージデザイン、ノベルティーデザインを手掛る。特に、1980年から1997年までの『ハワイアンオープン記念ボトル』のデザインはハワイ自然風景をテーマにハワイの明るく雄大なイメージを
表現したもの。
1977 : I took the position of a graphic designer in the packaging
section of Suntory Ltd. Liquor company. Suntory Ltd. is well
known for its innovative design. I continued to work for Suntory
Ltd. until 18 kinds of Hawaiian Open Memorial Bottles I designed
every year, showed the characteristic of my work.
この他『'81 ポートピア・アンカーボトル』、『'81 ポートピア・ブイボトル』、
『'84 サントリーレッド・赤ちょうちん』、により日本パッケージデザイン賞、
特別賞、奨励賞。 |

またこの間、デニソン＆トヨダ、エスプリ社、ランドー・アソシエイツ、ヒロコ・カドヤデザイン、トランス・パシフィック・ブリッジ、などのためのパッケージデザイン、CIプロジェクト、カタログの編集企画にも参加する。
1989 : This year was the turning point in my life. Moving to
San Francisco, California with My family, I began a two year
long experience of studying and producing exhibition designs
for the California Academy of Sciences. This opportunity to live
in the U.S.A. and learn about exhibition design deeply influenced
my whole approach to the philosophy of design. Among the projects
I participated in were Life Through Time Dino Fest '91, a Yosemite's
100th Anniversary. While in San Francisco I also worked for Denison
& Toyoda, Esprit, Landow Associates, Hiroko Kadoya Design, and
Trans Pacific Bridge. Through these employment opportunities,
I learned about American business |

1991 : I returned to Japan and continued to work on exhibition
design projects. |

1992: I participated in the design of the logos and monuments
for the Science Plaza in Takayama, and I also designed the monument
for the Museum to commemorate the Explore Eizaburo Nisibori in
Shiga. |

この年より、大阪 サントリーミュージアム「天保山」の展示企画に参加。
『'95 カナディアン ワイルドライフアート展：Canadian
Wild Life Art』では、
展示企画、 図録デザイン等、全体プロデュースとして参加。
カナダの作家達と共に作家達の求めている世界にもっともふさわしい展示空間を創り上げることをこころざす。
1994 : As the chief designer for the '95 Canadian Wildlife Art"
exhibit at the Suntory Museum Tenpozan in Osaka. I was able to
enjoy working with five Canadian wildlife artists. Through this
joint effort we expressed our concern for the natural environment
through art. |

1995 : Projects this year included: posters for Kabuki in Kyoto,
Yoshino cho, and a window gallery. I was acknowledged by FACE
magazine for having a natural science approach to design. |

|
サントリー株式会社のために総合デザインアドバイザーとして実施に参加。
山崎蒸溜所『テイスティングホール』を空間プロデュース。 1996.11 完成。
1996 : I began to do landscape design as part of my larger responsibility
as the head designer of Suntory Ltd. As part of this larger project,
I designed a Tasting Hall at Suntory Yamazaki Distillery. This
was completed in Novenber, 1996. |

サントリー山梨ワイナリー『ワインと花の丘』建設のための全体プロデュース。
1998.6 完成。
1997 : As a result of the Suntory project's success, I was commissioned
to design a winery complex in Yamanashi, called The Hill of Wine
and Flowers. In designing the tasting room, shops, restaurant,
and library, I was able to further use my natural science approach
to design. |

サントリーミュージアムIMAXシアターのための『マーク・トウェイン's
アメリカ』、
『エベレスト』、『ブルーオアシス』展示を企画デザイン。
1998: the Hill of Wine and Flowers opened in June of 1998. I
supervised the display design for the IMAX filme "Mark Twain's
America", "Everest" and "Blue Oasis". |

|
サントリー山崎蒸溜所『山崎ウイスキー館』を全体プロデュース。 2000.3.24 完成。
1999:"Yamazaki Whisky House （Museum）Project" I had
been attending as a total designer, was completed and opened
in March 2000. |

「空間構想デザイナー」、「絵師」として企業施設や町の空間デザイン、文化の再生プロジェクトに加わりながら、美しい風景作りと豊かな社会作りのための構想と提案指導活動をつづけたいと思っています。
2007 : I am currently warking on several design projects that
allow me to combine an investingative approach with visual design
principles as an artist to create public design which I hope
will make a true contribution to our wonderful world. |
